Job description

We are looking for an Assistant Development Manager to join the Uliving development team who will be based in London but with a remit which covers London, South East, North and Midlands.
The Assistant Development Project Manager serves as an integral part of the Development Team which has overall responsibility for the successful sourcing, planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of the pre-construction phases of development projects.
The Assistant Development Manager will join a team of 3 people reporting directly to the Student Housing - Head of Development. Your key responsibilities will be:
1.Design and Planning
-Assist the team in updating the design brief/Uliving Specification through each design stage
-Assist the team in reviewing the design produced by the design team and check that it is compliant with the design brief/Uliving Specification
-Appoint and manage Interior designer
-Prepare and update list of derogation (if applicable) against Design brief/Uliving specification
-Attend design meetings
2.Finance and Internal Reporting tool
-Work with the Senior Development Manager and Project Finance team to prepare and update on a regular basis a financial model for presentation and agreement with the investors
-Update Budget Follow-Up, Programme, Risk Register and project sheet monthly
-Raise invoices in SAP and liaise with the financial control team to make sure invoices are paid on time
-Appoint external advisor to undertake the project due diligence at each stage of the project (Tax advisor, Legal advisor, Demand Study, Valuation etc)
-Assist in preparing the JCT contract with our sister construction company (in particular Employer`s Requirements)
-Assist in preparing the Development Agreement between the SPV and Linkcity
-Review and comments on Contract Sum, Construction programme and phasing of the project which will be prepared by others
4. Facility Management
-Provide design information to our Management services partner for them to advise on operational requirements
-Liaise with the Management Services partner to get estimated operational costs for the project
-Assist in preparing the Facility Management Contract with our Management Services partner
Candidate`s Profile
-Relevant degree in real estate, development or planning
-Experience of working for/with Higher Education, Student Accommodation sector
-Solid experience in real estate, development or planning
-Good understanding of how development agreements work
-Honest and reliable
-Attention to detail
-Excellent communication and negotiation skills
-Team player
-Proactive attitude
-Excellent problem-solving ability
-Good Excel skills and good numeracy skills
