Description de la mission

The Lumwana Project is one of the largest mining projects in Africa located in Zambia. The copper has been mined for 10 years and it is owned by Barrick (a Canadian company) and the project of DTP Mining is to continue the mining activity, now carried out by the client.
This project is part of a dynamic of strong development of the company which has the goal of becoming a recognized contractor in the sector. This project is a real challenge for the company because, as the company will continue with the existing activity overnight (with equipment and men) without disruption of the activity. This challenge requires a strong preparation and involvement of the teams that will carry out this project. The integration of new people into the project is an opportunity for them to live a unique experience and to have access to all the issues of our profession.
The logistics officer will be in charge of:
• Organizing local and international logistics for the mine.
• Following up orders to ensure that these operations comply with conditions imposed (deadline, etc.), and follows up the logistics.
• Establishing all the documents necessary to ensure working efficiency.
• Obtaining and analyses calls for tender and prices from suppliers, essential for negotiating conditions and purchase price.
• Recording the calls for bid in a database.
• Seeking out the best prices and helps the Deputy Logistics Manager or the Senior Logistics Manager.
• Proposing and quantifies technical solutions, puts the plant/equipment into use and ensures its maintenance (repairs, updates, etc.).
• Participating in consultation with suppliers.
• Finding out about and proposes latest technical developments of materials and plant/equipment and then proposes them.



Profil

Required skills
Master degree in Management or Engineering
Driving License
Advanced knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT, Access, Outlook), Surpac (equivalent), Autocad, SQL,…
Bilingual level of English
Ability to work in a team, have a sense of service, good technical knowledge of materials,
and good negotiating skills.
Desirable:
Previous experience in logistics
Meticulous and well organised.
