Description de la mission

The Lumwana Project is one of the largest mining projects in Africa located in Zambia. The copper has been mined for 10 years and it is owned by Barrick (a Canadian company) and the project of DTP Mining is to continue the mining activity, now carried out by the client.
This project is part of a dynamic of strong development of the company which has the goal of becoming a recognized contractor in the sector. This project is a real challenge for the company because, as the company will continue with the existing activity overnight (with equipment and men) without disruption of the activity. This challenge requires a strong preparation and involvement of the teams that will carry out this project. The integration of new people into the project is an opportunity for them to live a unique experience and to have access to all the issues of our profession.

The mining engineer will be in charge of:
Providing technical guidance and support in achieving production targets as per the mine planning in quantity and quality and be involved in their elaboration
Tracking Progress of the mining works and evaluating their adherence to the company’s standards and as per the mine planning in term of quantity and quality

Key accountabilities:
Assist the Production Engineering (PE) Superintendent in the implementation of the Data Mining System and the Production Tracking System
Conduct Production and Productivity reports and analysis on mining operations so as to identify deviation towards budget and target
Liaises with other departments and Client’s for section needs (survey, geology, maintenance, etc.)
Leads through his/her example by not accepting deviations and insisting on immediate corrective action

Leadership & People Management: Ensure that Production Crews roster are prepared and readily available
Subcontractor Procurement:     Provide Support to Production Manager in monitoring of subcontractors or suppliers performance
HSE&Q: Be full knowledgeable on applicable QHSE procedures on site and ensure that all QHSE procedures are observed
Ethics: Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, statutory obligations and DTP Mining (KMS) policy


Master degree in Engineering:  Mining, Civil works, Earth sciences
Driving License
Advanced knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT, Access, Outlook), Surpac (equivalent), Autocad, SQL,…
Bilingual level of English
Basic General Technical knowledge construction and/or Mining
Ready for exposure to the challenges of operating in remote sites.
